DEANNA


  * Worked on Fall 2024 Schedule of Classes. Still combining the grad
    classes, but it?s +much closer to being ready.

  * Continued work on Fall calendar. Still awaiting Admissions event
    dates for Fall Will be posted this week on CS Department Calendar
    in Outlook.
  
  * Inquired into cost for replacing the 4 PED locks in MSB. Cost is
    $2000 per lock.  +However, the University is switching to a new
    wireless lock system and MSB is +tentatively slated for all locks to
    be replaced in FY 2026-2027, with no cost to the +department for the
    upgrade at that time. Also, BEST locks are no longer available, so
    +the replacement locks would be on the new wireless system, but added
    onto the red card, +thus eliminating the need two cards. There is a
    3-month delay in ordering the wireless +locks to installation, so we
    would still need to order PED cards for this Fall. Red +cards will be
    switched to gold cards, with the gold cards being the sole swipe card
    in +the future.

  * Extensive copier issues last week, both for jams and printing
    issues. Printing issue from ATR lab is likely due to a Linux print
    driver being installed incorrectly +(the lab installed themselves,
    not Systems) and Jason Rozen is correcting that. William +from
    Xerox worked on the machine last week and replaced the roller that
    pulls the paper +from Tray 4. He noted that our paper is too damp
    from the humidity, no longer laying +flat, and the paper is
    catching as it goes through the copier. He advised ordering
    +different paper in the future as we have the least expensive
    option, which doesn?t print +well (we have 3 unopen boxes and a
    very full paper drawer) and also getting a +dehumidifier. We will
    keep Tray 4 empty (once we get through the paper)

  * Dee Warren advised that undergrad classes need 12 students to run
    and that grad +classes need 7 students to run. We have a few
    undergrad classes that have been approved +to run with a lower
    amount in order for students to complete their programs.
