Forgettable book with mostly platitudes. The subject is so diverse and
changing in time, so intricately interwoven with the rest of human
history, that to write something general is difficult. This book shows
why. When people do not like each other and/or cannot resolve their
difficulties through other means, they start a war (that's not a
quote, just a general impression of MacMillan's style of
writing). Yup, that they do.
