in the end Soboul starts doing a good job comparing different
revolutions of the 17-th century and thereabouts and outlining what
makes the French one special. He sort of cuts it short. It was
interesting when he kicked the American revolution though.

I am on page 50 in the french revolution. The writing flows pretty
well. On page 46 onwards there is this un-marKsist theory being
developed -- of crowd fear that led to bad things.

I also started the french revolution. The downside of all french books
is you never know how the heck the names are pronounced. This problem
did not exist in russian since all the names were phonetically
Cyrrilized.
