Yep, Sal(vatore) Paradise. Moreover, even in his personal life is not
engaging. You'd think a 20-something should, if not have something
interesting to write about, but at least realize that what he is doing
in life is mediocre. I was pissed when Sal just walked away from the
mexican girl and her kid without even caring to present it as an
emotional drama.

I have maybe 50 pages to go.  Actually, the second part is better
written. The same frenetic style but the quality of the text, the
descriptions are a little better. The main characters are a little
more intersting. So, I don't think it was a total waste. This guys are
infantile -- they are almost our age.
